L'Aquila saffron received the PDO mark in 2005. The 'red gold' grows in Navelli healthy and pure but, although the most precious, it is not the only product that characterises the village. Mention must also be made of olive oil, one of the few extra virgin ones in the area, almonds and chickpeas, small and tasty.
